Was just wondering if the Dept of Natural Resources or any private groups have ever tagged muskies for a study, and if any one has any thoughts as to if this could be done succesfully and not harm a fish. I know they have done the single hook study in a pond in Spooner, but was curious as to any lakes that might have been tagged. Stinky nets to all, and to all a good night.[8)]

I think that some groups like Muskies Inc. have done some studies which required taggin; but I am not 100% certain. I know for a fact that the WI DNR has done tagging in the past. For specific information on which lakes currently have tagged fish in them I recommend that you contact the dnr. Phone calls would probably be more productive than an email, but I guess that depends if you get ahold of the right person first!

Milwaukee Chapter of MI has done extensive tagging and studies on Pewaukee Lake. Ask Jason Smith. I know he tagged many fish for sveral years. Not sure of the website addy, but they have some reports posted there.
