I need to transfer my waypoints from my 520C to a card. I bought what I believe is the correct card, yet everytime I try to transfer my data it tells me to "insert mmc card." Does the card need to be formatted or do I have some other issue?

How big is your memory card???. I had the same problem with my handheld unit when I tried to transfer my waypoints to a blank new 8gb card. I put a new 2gb card in and it worked fine. I dont know why but it works fine uploading to the 2gb card but wont work with the 8gb card.

My 520 works with a 2G, but they recommend to use a 512MB or smaller for older models.

yup your card is probably too big....the files you are going to save are like 20k...so even a 512 card you could have 25 files on it and not fill the card...
