Grog - Have you caught any Tiger's in Tonka?

I have done my research and there are no stocking reports of Tigers in Tonka. I boated a beautiful 34 incher (Tiger) yesterday in a prime Muskie spot!

I have also heard of the same thing up at Mille lacs. It seems as though the Muskie are messing with the Pike to produce Tigers which I thought was unusual in a natural environment.

Tahoe,
I don't have the reports here in front of me, but I know the DNR stocked tigers in 'Tonka a few times in the '80s and possibly in the '70s as well. I suspect all of those are long since departed, and you did indeed catch a "natural hybrid", but they were stocked in the past.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
It's been very nice not having any muskie guys on the lake this year [;)]

Tahoe, what do you drive? I've been on the lake many days that you have posted that you have as well. I'm running a red/silver Cajun. Feel free to say hi sometime.

As far as fishing goes, week ago monday 3, week ago Thurs 5 topwater blowups, last monday 1. Yep, it's that time of year again.

Treats - SHHHHHHH is right.....I haven't given away the spots though. Your right, it has been nice not having other's chasing the big girls!

I run a Crestliner and am usually out during week as work permits me too. I rarely make it out there on the weekends. That will change once the pleasure boaters get off in what, mid to late September?

I'm thinking of coming up to Tonka on Monday Sept. 9. Are the pleasure boaters still out in full force during the week that time of the year, or will me and my 14' Lund get booted off again at 10:00am? If you think its still pretty bad, I think I will head over to French Lake instead. Thanks.

During the week, the lake is empty. That is the best time to go.
I was out yesterday (Sat) and left at noon as the pleasure boaters were out in full force. Weekdays are the best time to go.

Treats - Telling you I run a Crestliner probably does not help that much..Red Green Crestliner.

Tahoe,
I haven't caught any hybrids on Tonka, I did check the stocking report I have and it showed 1,249 hybrids were stocked in 1988.

Treats, I fished one of your hot spots from last fall and caught 5 slime all around 3 lbs. They trashed one of my favorite bucktails . Didn't see any ski's there. Looking forward to the pignator outings again this fall. I only made one of them last year but plan on going more frequently this fall. I have a 16' grey Lowe with a 60 Evinrude---Cya on the water.
