Location: Northwest Wisconsin | Might be heading over to the twin cities area (Champlin Park) next week and just wondering what lakes have muskie close by and what the water temps might be.

| There are many lakes in the metro that have good musky fishing, just look at the DNR website. But water temps are around 83-85 degrees in most lakes so most guys have stopped fishing muskies in the metro. |

Location: United States | Kiddy pee pool warm... Most lakes in the metro are well above the danger level for safe muskie fishing, not to mention the bite has been mediocre at best. I'd head up to Vermilion if I were you, where the water is a bit cooler and the bite has been better.

Location: mn | The rains might have cooled it down a bit not sure. Went swimming in calhoon 2 days ago after shooting the bow and it felt like a bathtub. I'm guessing 83 to 86degrees. Still seeing 2 to 5 boats a day muskie fishing the trolling motor lakes. To bad! Sounds like cooler weather is on the way. Wishful thinking. |

Location: Right behind you (tap, tap) BOOO | Word is a cool down is coming like to the point where it will struggle to get out out of the 60's on this coming Sunday in the metro area. Take your pick not to far from Forest Lake, Bald Eagle, Eagle, Minnetonka, Indy and best of all given the coming temp trends the water should be cooled off nice by then. good luck.

Location: Northwest Wisconsin | I'm closer to Vermillion than the cities, about 30 mins east of sup/duluth. But my boat is only 14ft and right now doesn't have a motor on it. I would be heading to stay with my aunt and uncle for a bit in the cities and they have a 17ft boat and would like to try and muskie fish. They have the boat I have the gear type of thing. I guess I will just have to wait and see what the weather decides to do. I know that even on the Pike Lake Chain the temps are getting high (76/77) when I was out last thursday.

Location: MN | St. Croix River is a possibility. I have never fished out there but my basic thinking is the current, springs, etc, might keep her cool and under the too hot mark. I know people don't open up about the Croix but maybe someone can shoot him a temp reading.... so you don't have to post.
Otherwise Mille Lacs is not too far, much closer than Vermilion.

| If you live up by Duluth, try the St. Louis River. Minetonka is at 86 degrees and should not be fished. I can't imagine that anything is cooler in the metro. If you want to come south, try Mille Lacs if it is a calmish day.
