| Need to replace the valve for my baitwell on my 618vs (2003) because it won't drain. Trouble shooting revealed no broken external parts. So I figured it is an internal problem with the valve. Looks simple enought to do but looking for input from anyone replaced one before. Also, does anyone know is those valves are ranger specific or are they the same as in other boats like tuffys, etc. If anyone has replaced on how much do they cost? |

Location: MN | Your problem might lie with one of the flappers, though it could be a valve sticking also. Call the folks at Flow Rite and they'll help you out. I've replaced these on my boat and my buddy's with no troubles, as long as you can get at it.

| Thanks for the info. Im not sure what they look like inside but when I put a screw driver in the intake side of the valve it feel it go past the flap and then water drains. It seems easier to replace the valve than the flap. Would that be correct you think? |

Location: MN | Without seeing it myself I can't be sure, but it sounds like you're pushing the flapper in with the screwdriver from the intake sade, which if you have it in the empty or drain position that flap should not even be blocking on the intake side. But unless you've moved it intentionally, I'm not sure how it could have moved by itself. I suppose it could slip...the plastic arm which positions the cable from your lever up in the cockpit. |

| Yeah, I'm just going to have to take it out and check it. Thanks for info though and the link you sent me was helpful. Have a good one |

Location: MN | Once you take that side cover off you can see what's happening and intuitively you'll know what you need to do probably. Good luck. |
