All the 6500's C3 I have goten the last couple of years have been the silver ones with grey plastic parts. I find the clickers to not be any good, in other words they suck big time.

Now anyone know if we can change inner parts to make them load like the old ones? What I mean are the parts available still or if you needed some parts for your old reel would you get these newer and quieter clickers?

I have 6 of those reels, 4 are still in the box and hate to have to work with lesser clickers when trolling.

Thanks,

There is a guy from the mn metro area that blueprints garcia reels. Not sure of his name but he was at the mn musky show. Nice guy, I am sure somebody here knows who he is.

Richard,
You could also try the Sportsman's Repair Shop in Mosinee, WI (Chuck Brod). The phone # is (715) 693-6634. They have parts for all kinds of reels. I have purchased parts for my 1982 and 1986 6500 C reels and Chuck had the parts everytime (worm gears, drive gears, screws, old style drag washers, etc, etc. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't have or can't get the old style clickers.
