Got to Spring Bay yesterday and was lucky enough to get a 44" earlier tonight.

Very hot weekend seeing surface temps as high as 81 on Lake of the Woods. We got a nice 48 as well as a 36 and a 40 inch muskie. Lots of fish seen and somewhat aggressive. Very tough on Sunday. Still saw lots of fish but they just would not go. Caught one 39" under a tree but that was it. Had a Super tanker come up on my partners Weggel late in the day. Very exciting and thought she would go. Raised her one more time but just would not go. Till next weekend.

Saturday was rod/reel prep and final boat maintenance (yes, I'm finding a lot of catch-up work in this area) prior to heading to AML!

Sunday was a tourney on the beach....didnt turn out like we were hoping, but still the best views in Chicago!!

22.5 hours fishing in Onieda/vilas. Not much for follows..either they ate...or didn't follow. Thurs lost 2 on bulldawgs, one 37 boated by partner. Sat got this 46.75 on a dawg and lost a 44-45 that got caught in the net hoop. Only had 2 follows in the 22.5 hours of fishing....5 fish hit. Lots of fronts moving through...

My daughter got her first at the age of 5! I couldn't be more proud, and it flat out made my weekend.

She wasn't casting for them, but I do believe it ate a bluegill that ate her leech! Saw the fish spit a gill during the fight, but her little crappie hook was buried in the fish.

The muskies were HOT for us the last couple of days. Jeff Kozlowski and I bagged some monsters. In just the matter of two days the muskie mafia boat boated a 54, 45, 53, 44, and a 52! Jeff got a 44.5 the day before as well. Friday morning Jeff put a 54 and a 45 in the boat then just a little later that night I got the 53! Next night we got a 44 and a 52! MUSKIE MAFIA

Pics comin soon

What kind of pattern did you guys have? Rocks/weeds? Deep or shallow, if you don't mind me asking. Sounds like you had a great time.

Similar to Cory, we put a ton of fishing hours in this past weekend with not a whole lot to show for it. Friday morning, my buddy lost about a mid 40's on a curly sue. Then, we had nothing all day Friday until the hour window of moonrise when we raised four fish; two which were mid 40's and went back to the biggest right at moonrise only to hook into a smaller fish and land it (upper 30's somewhere). Saturday was very slow again even though we hit a new lake. Saturday evening we went back to the lake we were on Friday and my buddy got a FAT mid 40" fish and I ended up catching a 37" that unfortunately died on me (headshaking got the back hooks into the gills - worked with it for close to an hour before it stopped breathing...hate to see that). All the fish were caught on curly sues except for the upper 30 was on an undertaker. Don't really understand why the fish weren't on...warm water temps, fronts were in and out, just seemed like it would've been better. No pics or measurements as we were filming.

Jake and Jeff - Sounds like you're having a blast...congrats and keep it going.
Travis - congrats to your daughter...is that the lake that's infamous for getting gills hit?

I understand the poor reports. Fished in what should have been good conditions and came up flat.

Had a new to musky, fisherman with me and couldn't get him a fish. Thursday saw one (maybe 40") and came back at moon rise to see him again.

Friday saw 2 others (low-mid 30's) and lose a high 30's at the boat. Partner found out about urgency and boat side hits with netting. That afternoon at another numbers lake he had 4 light hits and I had half the tail bit off a pounder.

Saturday found good weather in the morning with a pike hitting the net for him, at least he caught a fish. Hour later a 42-43 incher in the net and we thought we had something going.......not. Last fish seen about 8:30 that night and about 40".

Tons of hours and little to show for it. Gave him the front of the boat while I worked the TM from the rear. We need consistent weather.

Jake, give me a call if your without a partner and want to fish just about any day next week. I'll be on vacation starting this weekend.

Leech- In the heat of the day the boys and I saw a mid 40's on the shallow rocks at Submarine and the guy on the other side of the reef got all excited about a "really big muskie". At dusk in a light rain in the shallow cabbage caught big largemouth and small northerns on a Longville lake on topwaters like Rumblers, Jackpots, burned bucktails. Hard to believe no skies showed themselves at dusk in those conditions. We are goin back Thursday for 2 weeks.

What Tim said! Brought in a 12 in Suick and was looking at it after a snag, and there was a tooth in the head with 4 other marks that hooks couldn't have done. Never felt the hit, but somethin with teeth hit it and let it go, or I just really dropped the ball, oh well. Boat partner pulled a creeper right out of the mouth of one that hit between moonrise and sunset. Other then that, we didnt have any other luck on Friday.

Saturday came up and we put in 8 hours or so. I lost one upper 30s/low 40s on an 11" Curly Sue. That was the only fish we saw all day, and it wasn't even moon phase related. I know a guy that was on the same lake during the same time period, and he caught 2 37s, a 40.5, and lost a small one. For the most part, we were both fishing a little ways off weedlines in a little deeper (20+ foot) water. I guess he was doing something we weren't!

Fished Sunday for a few hours also. I caught a 38.5 a bit past noon. Then took a break mid day. Missed an upper 30's not long after I got back out at around 6:00. Both fish I saw Sunday were on a Mag Dawg again fishing out off weedlines.

Surprising more of us didn't have more action with the warm water and full moon.
