I have a custom boat cover 6 years old. Still in good condition. How can I water proof it?

I have used a product called 303 High Tech Fabric Guard with good success. It is VERY expensive but unlike many of the cheaper products it has a UV protectant in it that makes the water proofing and the fabric last much longer. Word of warning, if you hvae a fairly porus canvas or sunbrella type matieral you will need bunch of it. I belive I used close to 1/2 a gallon the first time. I put some saw horses under hte cover and then sprayed it out of a garden sprayer. I would recommend spraying it a garage with the door open or outdoors because of the smell.
