Last winter I heard some talk on here about adding length to rod handles. I remember Thorne Bros. was a place that would do it. I called them and it is very reasonable (about $12 - $15). Unfortunately the shipping is very expensive if you don't live nearby. Does anyone know of someplace in south eastern Wisconsin or somewhere between Elkhorn, Wi. and Land O Lakes, Wi. that does this? Thanks.

Use Spee Dees delivery if you ar in the midwest. About $10 to ship the rod to Thorne Bros from WI

I will second both Thorne's and Spee Dee. Call Lonnie at Thornes and tell him what you want done. You won't be disappointed. All my rods have had 4.5" extensions put in so that the rear cork is 19". Lonnie even said that it won't void the St. Croix warranty when I asked him about the last rod I ordered.

Gee Whiz!

I sold my entire line of St. Croix Avids two years ago because I got spoiled after I began using rods that had longer butts. The Avid line of rods were lightweight and I really enjoyed them, sans the short rod butts. I wish I would have known ...

Thorne Bros does a good job on rod handles. I have had probably 6-8 done for my personal rods. I also send my customers to Throne if they have any problems like crush an eyelet, etc.
