How has it been this year for you folks on site?.

For me, its been Zero. I moved some fish early but no takers. I sure hope I get one soon or it will be first in a long time that I have not had a topwater fish in a year.

got my first legal back in may on a hawg wobbler- and ever since- every fish that has showed interest in one of my topwater lures has missed by like a foot or more...

i love topwater lures but my hooking percentage with them is terrible.

need to get a fish on my super topraider before the end of the season!!!! [:sun:]

I haven't had a ton of action, but I've had great results. I've had a few follows and had a couple eat. I've boated two and they've both been big fish. One was a 48 3/4" that hit right next to the boat, just as I was about to take the bait out of the water. I never saw any signs that there was anything down there. The other was a 49 1/2" fish. Both fish came on Top Raiders. And both came less then 15 minutes after sunset.

Bite was ok late June but then slowed in July.

They are interested the past few weeks but they are completely missing the baits. Last weekend I had a mid 30's fish jump completely up and over a topraider..

So far this year the baits I'm seeing fish on.

Pacemaker
Doc
Jackpot
Topraider

Boated a 33" last weekend on a Thunderhead!

Have had a lot of followers on top as of late, especially on a black Globe. Most of my topwater action has come in the AM. Evenings, I've seen a lot of action as of late on a big black Bootail burned right under the surface.

Looks like it's back into the loch with you nessy

5 fish landed so far on topwaters (jackpot and top raided.) Topwater bit has been slow since the 3rd week of opener....until lastnight! 5 blowups lastnight on an awaker (topraider died) and not a fish to show for it. It was still more fun having 5 blowups on topwater then catching 1 little guy. Jason, try the inside weededge and I think you'll be plesently suprised right now.

Earlier in the year I had one spurt where the fish were chasing the Jackpot and Dancin' Raider but nothing else until the last couple of weeks. Right now I am on the best topwater bite of the year. My last three trips have seen lots of topwater action mainly on Topraiders and Awakers. My last trip on Tuesday night I had three hookups on a Topraider, unfortunately only one went in the boat.

Rolled a few on Leech last week with a black and orange Creeper. It was the only thing in my box they were interested in, although other guys were doing real well with Doctor spoons and bucktails, and there was the usual walleye fisherman landing a 48 incher (and killing it) right outside the harbor on a Lindy minnow rig. Grrr.

Water temps are coming down so it should pick up. Last sunday we had 4 blowups with one lost on topwater in 20 min. at noon with bright skies and clear water. Go figure.
