| First of all, EVERYONE is correct! Webster and the adjoining backwaters are approximately 775 acres. Most of that is "fishable" musky water---as fish are often caught in Backwater lake within sight of the boat ramp. However, as of last weekend, there were a TON of weeds back there--which would make live bait fishing somewhat more difficult right now. As far as what depth to fish--- pick one---they are caught from the surface right down to the bottom on ol' Webby---what kinds of lures do you enjoy tossing? Water temps were beginning to drop but watching the weather will help you better plan your trip. If you come in early OCT.---the fish should be shallow BUT you can't ignore the suspended baitfish bite. Suckers are a great option---please use a reliable quick strike for the fish's well being. Other than that--perhaps hiring one of the local pros to show you the ropes for a day or a half day----just to up your percentages of getting on the fish right from the get go. YES---Webster gets alot of pressure---tons!!! A resounding NO the fishing has not declined---not at all---- MONSTERS continue to come out of there with regularity---3---49 inchers were caught in May/June that I know of. If you're not the people friendly type, webster may not be your kind of lake---but maybe Tippy or the Barbee Chain will be---good luck---sharp hooks---and cross their eyes on the hookset. | Thanks guys - I have muskie fever and I will be down there in a few weeks - I don't mind other fishing boats as long it is not a bunch of water skiers (we definitely love talking to other fisherman) - Also, trust me - we catch and release all muskie - never killed a fish I didnt eat so if we catch a legal walleye then I will definitely be having it for dinner that night- Good fishing to all and thanks again for all the info

| Indiana Can and is worth it I have over 100 Indiana Muskies in the boat this year already most from Webster this year (sometimes it is Barbee or Tippy This year Webster is on Fire)

As for parking at the ramp check out the cabins I offer on the lake for $50 A NIGHT you can keep your boat in the water if you want.

Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid | Just my $.02 but......I would highly recommend Chae or one of his guides. No other guides spend as much time yearly or have as much total time over the years as Chae, Broc, or the Kings brothers. There is a reason they finish in the top 3 in a 100 boat tournament almost ever year. Chae even lives on Webster..... |

Location: Palm Coast, FL | I will bite...just my $.02. Randy and I have many top place finishes in the Indiana tournament (1, 3, and 4th) along with many other top place finishes. When I was entering fish in the MOFC I won 2 straight years in the WLMC masters division. The next year Randy won. We have both placed in the top 10 men's division of Muskies Inc international competition. Yes, any guide is going to put you on fish as we all spend a great amount of time on the water. Location: Indiana | If you are looking into guides some great ones have been mentioned, but don't forget about Mike Hulbert. I would bet he is as in touch as anyone on Indiana waters. I have fished with him3 times and learned a lot each time. |
