I'm having a friend build me some muskie rods. My question...

What is the best blank for the money? Looking for durability over lightness/sensitivity.

If he were to make the rods and sell them, he wants to keep the price as low as possible for his friends.

Rod specifications.....all with fast action tips
8'6" extra heavy for pounders
8'6" heavy for double 10's
8' heavy for crankbaits/topwaters
7'9" medium heavy for smaller baits

thanks a lot!
