Bad move. If your tip breaks somehow you end up breaking the rod getting the old one off. Sound like a good idea and most case your tip top may not break for the rest of the life of that rod - but what if? |

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Ferrule cement is what you want, your local archery shop will have it for sure. Heat it gently with a torch and apply it to the blank then slide the tip on. |

Actually, using a good 2-part epoxy like Devcon is a good move. Many rod builders use it. It's very easy to remove a tip-top that's been installed with epoxy . I've done more than I can count. Here's how: hook a paper clip on the tip-top, attach a rubber band to the paper clip, attach the rubber band to something that you can pull against. Apply a little bit of heat at a time with a lighter while you pull. The split second that the epoxy breaks down- the tip-top flies off. You've applied enough heat to cause the epoxy to release, but not enough to harm the rod blank. Make sure to wear safety glasses when you do this!!!!
