One of my tip guides has come loose... I'm planning on sliding it off and re-gluing it, wondering if there is a specific glue or epoxy I should use?

Flex Coat Thermal Plastic Tip Top adhesive is professionally designed for installing the tip tops on blanks. This adhesive maintains a high-strength bond in all temperatures and retains its flexibility in cold temperatures.

Use a heat activated glue like plastisal. Don't use super glue.

Bad move. If your tip breaks somehow you end up breaking the rod getting the old one off. Sound like a good idea and most case your tip top may not break for the rest of the life of that rod - but what if?

Ferrule cement is what you want, your local archery shop will have it for sure. Heat it gently with a torch and apply it to the blank then slide the tip on.

Actually, using a good 2-part epoxy like Devcon is a good move. Many rod builders use it. It's very easy to remove a tip-top that's been installed with epoxy . I've done more than I can count. Here's how: hook a paper clip on the tip-top, attach a rubber band to the paper clip, attach the rubber band to something that you can pull against. Apply a little bit of heat at a time with a lighter while you pull. The split second that the epoxy breaks down- the tip-top flies off. You've applied enough heat to cause the epoxy to release, but not enough to harm the rod blank. Make sure to wear safety glasses when you do this!!!!
