So I know that there is a bunch of guys out there that swear by a weagle whether it be the original Cady weagles or some of the Mojo weagles. They are phenomenal baits and they catch a ton of fish. I personally have problems working the smaller 8" version of these baits but absolutely love the 10" weagles made by Muskie Mojo. Recently though I have been using the 9", 6.5 oz version of the Musky Safari Water Mocasin and have been having some great success. The bait has the a little more weight than a weagle and is a bit thicker, yet not quite as big as the 10" weagle. The bait rides similar to the weagles in that when a fish hits at it they don't pop it out of the water. Has anyone else used these baits with success.

Musky Safari Water Mocasin is a winner, this bait comes in 3 sizes 8" - 5oz, 9" - 6.5oz, and a 10" 8.6oz this bait makes some big wakes. The 10" at 8.6oz is a bait that has a great hookup because of the weight.

On my to try list, I've seen them cheaper than the weagle too.

I have the 10 Water Mocasin and love it. It runs very similar to the weagle in terms of how it sits in the water. I think it moves more water due to approx half inch wider diameter. I think it is better at action, I can get this thing to turn more than 180. Love it

Do you keep the hooks that come with the bait on the 10"Mocasin? It would seem that the added width would take away from fish getting hooked.

Got the 10", awesome bait. The evil eyes scare smaller fish away and anger bigger fish.
I've been really pleased with all the Safari baits I've purchased, from Mr. Automatic to the Water Moc to the hatchet blade bucktails. Well built and reasonably priced.

I haven't noticed any hookup issues due to the increased width. Make sure you T the hooks though

Yea I realize you have to T the hooks, interesting that even thought the points cannot be seen on either side of the bait from above after T ing you can still pin a fish. Hmmm a bait to reconsider.
Thanks,
David

Awesome bait, as others said already they run low in the water and move a ton of water. All safari baits are built like a tank and will catch plenty of fish for you. If you haven't tried their baits it's worth a look.

Rollie and Helens looks like one of the best places to buy them, otherwise I've gotten a few at the winter shows as Scott attends most of them through his retailers that he works with.

Not to change the subject but has anyone used the big (8"?) Viper? If so, how does it compare to the Water Moccasin or Weagle?
