looks like I was day early anyway, not open til the 21st, as I noticed when I re-read the regs. Looks like I will have to wait til sunday, as baseball is taking over.

What types of baits work best there for the opener on Okoboji?

I wish I had a good answer to that question. Although I did catch one a couple of weeks ago on a 3" jerk bait. Maybe I'll start there.

I put in about 10 hours there yesterday but didn 't see a thing. Has anyone else had any luck there?

I didn't make it out other than at dark to try for eyes but my partner was out and got 1 sub and saw a dozen or so. Typicaly West isn't great till it warms, East can be better early but I don't fish it, Spirits tough but when you find one you might find 10. I won't get out till Monday evening but thanks to my partner I got a good starting point.

Jeff log in an pm me maybe you can let me tag along with ya and I can show you a little.

we saw 7 on Sunday by noon (west lake), they were not very active so we started bass fishing. Atleast they would cooperate.
