Location: Hayward, WI | I would say the 8" Slammer is a little narrower in width and also shorter from back to belly. I haven't used either of them a LOT but I would say the Slammer might have a little tighter wiggle and a bit less "wander." The Slammer is an AWESOME twitch bait. It's so erratic it's hard to believe it has a lip. It goes up, down, left, and right, sometimes rolls belly up, etc. I've trolled them a little bit and they also seem to troll pretty well. Both are worth having. The Jake is an old standard, and the Slammer does some really cool stuff in the water.

Location: SE, WI. | I like 6 and 10 inch jakes. BUT.... When it comes to the 8 ", The slammer would be my choice. I never cared for the action on the 8" jake. IMO ! |

Location: Syracuse, Indiana | Interesting! I like the 8" and 10" Jakes, but have never liked the 6" models. I use the 10" for trolling, and the 8" as a twitch bait. |

| To take this a step farther without having to add a new topic, is the action of the 10" deep diver slammer similar to that of the 8" slammer minnow bait? Also, have any of you had success on the 10" deep diver slammer? I just picked one up and looks like a good bait, but then again, they all do. |
