Posts: 32958 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | How did the Muskies treat you over the weekend? The wind blew so hard up here, Sue and I decided the Crappies and Pike would be safe for another few days.

Good call. Tell Sue I said hi. I'm kind of surprised at the minimal amount of pre-opening day banter this year. Everybody must have been sharpening their hooks and cleaning their boats. I could barely live vicariously. Hell, I almost started a thread on Thursday or Friday, and I wasn't even going fishing. Let's see some pictures. Somebody had to catch a fish. Kevin

Posts: 1764 Location: Ogden, Ut | I graduated from the yellow theraband to the red. Up to 15 reps per session from 10 for each exercise. Added a couple extra home exercises and 1 lb. of weight. At least 6 more formal physical therapy sessions scheduled during May. I'm seeing the surgeon who did the work today; hopefully he'll be pleased w/ my progress. Muskies seem to be a distant memory. I'd love to have that transform into light at the end of the tunnel. Stupid shoulders... S.

While you're not as old as me, you're no Spring Utah chicken. Don't make it worse. Kevin

Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | Pewaukee was rocking and rolling on Saturday. Our Milwaukee Muskies Inc. Chapter had our 24th annual opening weekend outing with the Quad County Chapter from Illinois. It is a fun tournament with a traveling trophy, a cookout on Saturday night at Smokies Musky Shop West, and a trophy presentation at 1:00 PM at the Waterfront Bar & Grill. Among 60 fishermen, there were 7 legals boated and may boats seeing 10 follows or more, (which we all know are noteworthy if you aren't catching!) Sunday was nearly calm, with the highlight of the morning being a 47"er caught, as I was told, which was caught while just off the landing waiting to trailer the boat! Incredibly, Quad County was this year's victor, with a narrow win! Congratulations, take care of "our" trophy until next year! Our boat had 23 follows over the day and a half with more than half of those being legals! My partner caught his first muskie which was only 5 years short of being a 50"er! I caught a 5" bluegill on a 6" Slammer! It is great to be on the water again. Edited by Steve Van Lieshout 5/3/2010 9:04 AM

Posts: 16 Location: Stevens Point/Sheboygan Wisconsin | Fished Wis River south of Stevens Point and had a dismal opening. 10 hours fished, 0 fish seen. The water is very tanic so follows are rarely seen and converted, at least for me. Fished Sat morning 630-1130 and Sun aft from 3-8. Cant be hot all the time. Now I wanna go to Pewaukee.

| I fished the a good chunk of the Wisconsin river south of Point as well with my girlfriend this weekend for most of the day saturday and sunday. I threw everything I had in about every retreive fashion possible with no luck while she tanned. About 7 sunday evening she decided that she wanted to learn how to use my musky rod. Well as luck has hit she hooked into a mid thirties fish on her first cast with an size 14 X-rap but lost it shortly after we saw the fish. She now wants a pole of her own, this is going to cost me... | |||

If I was a warden I could write at least three citations a day there. Just show up at my breakfast, lunch, and dinner breaks. And I would have my quota for the day. It is a nice lake. A little quite lake in a good sized city with muskies in it, is special indeed! Have a great season! guest.

Posts: 281 Location: ROckford IL | I managed two 35.5s on the madison chain, one was on a sucker in 12 fow and the other was in 9 Fow on a spinner bait on the figure 8, I also missed another on a spinner on sunday, very tough fishing overall, that wind was brutal. I caught the figure 8 fish on film, I will post the video in a few days. Location: Suburban Chicago | Fished Chain of Lakes in Illinois. Between three of us we boated two. Felt really good about it; it was only the second time I have gone out for these fish. You guys are posting length numbers. You actually measuring fish or it it just a guess? I'd GUESS these at fifty inches Edited by Cheech 5/4/2010 3:57 PM Attachments ---------------- P5010100 [1600x1200] (Small).jpg (45KB - 161 downloads) P5010098 [1600x1200] (Small).jpg (66KB - 157 downloads)

| Steve, I am on the Moen Chain, and after I gave up after trying to fish from a spinning boat on Saturday, I went for a walk and was checking out Moen as I walked. Wicked waves and swirling wind but there was one boat I saw near the rocks in the center of the lake, bobbing around like crazy. I remembered you said you might try Moen for crappies but I guess that wasn't you. If Moen had been your choice, you made a wise decision staying home. We have owned a cottage on the chain for 7 years and that was the worst wave action I have seen on Moen. | |||

Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | From the opener to Friday night fishing was very good. Lots of big girls caught and released this past week. The biggest was a 49 but I have 3 different friends that caught 46, 45 and 44 all on opening day. The 49 was Thursday. Water temps were up to 64 but now back into the 55 to 56 degree range. The post spawn is almost over and ready or not the fishing will get rocking with the next warm up. Its still a great morning bite till 9am then slows. Usually it will heat up again in the early afternoon. The last few hours for some reason has been slow. The Pewaukee Classic was Saturday the 8th. The Milwaukee Chapter Muskies Inc event had 25 fish over 30-inches were caught and released. Three people doubled to take the top three places. I lost a good one on a glide bait early in the tournament but couldn't get anymore to eat. Some very respectable fish are on the move but getting them to open their mouths has been hard. Lots of lookers. I will try and keep up my Pewaukee Lake reports on my website for those who want more Pewaukee Lake info.
