Well guys I have finally competed building my own tackle box to house all the necessary musky baits. It was made with 1/4" lexan and then stainless hardware. Take a look. What do you think?!

Now I just need to get this one full!

Very Nice! What was your approximate cost? I am thinking I may do something very similar in the future.

Where can a guy buy the lexan material and hardware to do that with?

It ended up costing me about $175 to build it. It is 16" wide by 24" long and 12" tall. http://www.estreetplastics.com/Polycarbonate_Lexan_Sheets_s/32.htm is where I got the lexan. Very fast shipping and lots of sizes that minimized my cutting needs.

Holy geez. Nice work you put into it! Looks good. But id have to say a justencase was about the same price at that size.

It took about 4-5 hours to get it all settled in and done. I was looking at the just encase boxes but they do not got this big in standard sizes, and he has to put more cross dividers into it and I did not want that because it limits the space. I did contact justencase and it would have cost $250-275 with the specs that I emailed him. So that is why I chose to go this route.

I built this box over the winter too. Only costed about $75 with all materials from menards. The poly was actually very easy to cut with a jigsaw as long as it's supported well. ie. lay on table and cut along table edge. I'm happy with the way it turned out and I had more fun building it.

It probably cost you so much more because you got all separate sheets. I cut all sides and bottom out of one .28 piece. then the lid and inserts are made out of thinner i think .80 thickness.
oh yeah, don't worry the box is stuffed now. i just threw those few baits in when I took the pics. Now it's stocked for opener.

Beautiful workmanship on both boxes! I've thought about doing something like that as a winter project, but I've always worried about my lures fading through the clear plastic. Anyone smarter than me have any thoughts on that?

MMAdman...what did you use for hardware and where did you get it? Close up pix of the hardware would be much appreciated. Nice Box!

Thanks guys. I got all of my corner brackets, trunk handles, and poly from menards. The brackets are not stainless but I think they'll be fine. If they begin to rust I can very easily replace them. The nuts and bolts are all stainless that I got from fastenal. I'll take some close ups tonight and post; right now I'm hardly working, I mean working hard.

Gman,
Here's some close ups of exactly how I assembled the box. The hardware all makes the box pretty solid. I also countersunk the poly at all bolt holes.

Any questions feel free to PM me.
