Headed up to Rhinelander with a few buddies, and was wondering how the Moan Lake's have been for all fishing? What is the best lake to fish out of all of them? Thanks Joe

Posts: 2089 | I spent a bunch of time there last season and loved it. The best built muskies I've seen in N. Wisconsin. They loved Mayhem's Super Models too!! As for anything else, or this weekend... I have no clue. I called it "the black water". Very dark, but a great fishery.

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | a sewer meant in the nicest way possible :0) steep break is about 2' ... just look for worrall, dave jonesi (shiney red boat) or stellaflue (flip-flops and hawaiian shirt) ... wait til they clear an area then camp on it. gawdy colors ... Posts: 32924 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Crappies will be shallow, under 5', and in the reeds and weeds, fish 'em with a 1/32nd ounce jig and a cubbie or minnow under a bobber. Walleyes will be on the edges and easy. Pike are everywhere, and there's some nice ones. I'm probably going to be out there Sunday on Moen.

Posts: 682 Location: Sycamore, IL | I will be heading up to the Rhinelander area on the 27th of July and was wondering if anyone could chime in with some advise...we will be staying on the Moen chain lake #1...should we concentrate on this lake or should we be on one of the other 4 lakes in the chain...also, was wondering about the water temps...these seem like shallow lakes, if temps are high what lakes in the general area would you try that might be a bit cooler...any advise would be great...Thanks Matt

Posts: 202 Location: Rhinelander | tough right now. heavy weeds. fish seem to be shallow alot, need slopmasters, etc to cut the weeds. All the lakes are good, 2 and 3 are round bowls while the others have some structure. Very dark right now, as dark as it has ever been, as all the rain has washed tannic acid in the lakes from the swamps. It looks like a lake full of coffee. I would say a bait with lots of water movement may be key?
