Need some help. I am trying to make leaders like Stealth's Gregg Thomas Hybrid leaders. I am using American Fishing Wire 174# and Hi Seas Fluoro 80#. What is the best knot for tying that heavy fluoro to the wire leader? I tried a trilene, but just didn't bunch up well, or like what I am used to seeing with braid or lighter mono. Thanks for the help.

I like the "Hangman's knot" - Obviously the heavy flouro or mono doesn't cinch as easy as smaller diameter line but you need to lubricate (spit) and slowly work the knot tight until it starts to bond then use a cleat or your foot to pull it tight.

I found this diagram online.

Hope it helps - tying heavy flouro is a slow process to do it well.
