Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | This is about my best testimate to my rods I have so far. A 100+lb sturgeon and a few 200lb log snags First a thanks to Jeff they guy in the picture. He has been very good to me for testing equipment and breaking most of my prototype stuff (LOL). He has really helped me make better rods and lures along the way. I know 100% a company is only as good as the input of others who test the tackle for long hours on the water. Thanks Jeff! monster! good test,1 thing is sure even 2 wr musky on the same line are not gonna break that rod. because pound for pound sturgeon fight way more harder than a musky.

Posts: 1 | I haven't posted on this site for more than two years, but I feel compeled to comment here. Please do not make this thread about Jeff, I assure you that is not what he wanted when he sent the pics to James. Jeff is not one who needs his ego stroked. I spend alot of time in the boat with Jeff and I was fortunate enough to witness this sturgeon battle first hand (I'm the guy on the right), I can confirm that Tackle Industries makes a great rod!!! Which is the testimonial to why this thread was started. Please keep the focus on that. Keep up the great work James. Brett Waldera

Forget that Waldera! Your boyfriend Jeff is a superstar! I've seen all the giant fish he's caught posted all over the internet. I know who I'm going have my spy glasses on and follow around this season.

Thanks for some of the nice comments. I can't claim much skill in the catch though. Brett was running the boat and anchored on the spot. I was sight seeing from the bow of the boat. When we started fishing I was playing with my graphs when I heard the rod being pulled across the gunnel and grabbed the rod and the fish was there. I am very pleased with rods James has. They are strong and lightweight. For the fisherman on a budget all I can say is WOW. You can buy a tackle industry rod and put a nice reel on it for the price some companies are charging for the rod alone.

Posts: 83 | Amazing! I pickec up a TI XH at the MN Show, now I'm kicking myself for not picking a Heavy too. I'd order it directly from James, but the wife might not be happy with me adding yet another rod to the arsenal.

But I think I'm gonna ask for a Mega-Heavy XXH for my birthday coming up in August. Hahaha. I still need a rod to throw the insanely large rubber baits.

I've been debating over some of the new longer rods that have come out this year for throwing big rubber. I was already leaning towards a TI rod and now it's a definite. For the price and obvious quality of the rod I don't think I can go wrong. Edited by Musky Madman 4/26/2010 8:17 AM
