Thinking about breaking away from Croix and getting the Black River 8'6" XHF I was wondering if anyone is throwing these sticks? I was going to use it with a 7000 HSN for double 10's.

The 8'6" is a great rod for big bucktails and plastics. It loads up nicely for good casting and forgiveness at boatside, yet still has a quick enough action to be able speed the lure into the figure-8.

One of mine is paired with a TE for bucktails / heavy crankbaits and another one is matched up with a Curado for throwing big plastics.

I think you'll be happy with your choice, especially at the very attractive prices.

I have a 7'6" that i bought last year. It's a good rod for the price. The only difference between this rod and my 7'6" croix is that it's heavier. Otherwise very similar in every other way.

I just picked up the new 8'6" rod last night so I haven't used it. Feels like a great rod. I've used the trolling rods most of last year and they held up great. Caught a few fish too :). Customer service from Jason has been great and he's gone out of his way to get what I want. Great rods, Awesome prices.
