The dock creaked as Dad carried the Fleetwin to the boat. His strength unmatched in my eyes, he was sturdy as an oak yet soft in his voice.

"Hold the boat for me, will you?" He asked, before stepping in to affix the motor to the
stern.

As dad connected the gas and prepared the engine, I
collected the life jackets, cushions, and tackle, not to mention the
anchor, which I was hoping Dad would see me carry so he knew I was
strong, too.
