I placed my 1st epoxy topcoated bait onto a homemade drying wheel today applied the 30 min 2 ton epoxy watch it go around for 5 min, then walked in the house. Came back out 5 min later to find my secureing method for the bait to the drying wheel had failed and theres my bait on the floor covered in sawdust and dirt. I tried to wipe it off quick using paper towel and mineral spirits, then put it back on the wheel. It feels like sandpaper on the side that was laying on the floor and glass on the other.
My question is do I just sand it smooth and recoat the epoxy onto it. or is there a better suggestion.

Sucks when that happens. gently sanding and re-coating is about all you can do You may have to put on the next coat thick enough to cover also.

If it is a wooden lure you can apply a heat gun to it and remove the epoxy but do a little area at a time and be careful you don't burn the wood. You'll need to repaint it again though.
