Posts: 670 Location: Otsego, MN | Fished it once and did not like the lake at all. I know some others who have had limited success out there. There is the occasional big fish caught in there.

Posts: 633 | I love the lake, but the water skiiers don't like the fishermen. I have had skiiers use me as a turn around bouy. I have seen a few nice fish, but with the small access, and everyone water skiing, it is just to busy for me to commit a bunch of time to figuring it out. I liked it better about 8 years ago when the water was much cleaner. As far as where to try to fish, check the MN muskie guide book. They have several spots marked. Near the ski jump is one good spot to try.

Posts: 315 | It's not worth your time to be fishing the tiny ponds with people all over them! Fish the bigger waters like white bear, bald eagle, or tonka! If you want some help pm me and Ill help you out a bit.

Posts: 128 | Owasso does have it's moments and there are some nice thick fish to be caught. It used to be much better fishing before the stupid lake association started bombing the entire lake for weeds in recent years. No nice green weeds, or any weeds for that matter, besides dead shallow crap anywhere on the lake during the summer anymore. Visibility is also waaaay down from 5-6 years ago. As stated above there are some better choices nearby. If you do choose to fish it try very early in the morning, and I DO mean very early..I've seen water skiiers out there by 5:00 AM.

if you are fishing after work - i take it pm - you are in for ok fishing - lake is decent for muskies. fish the north and south ends at dusk with top-water. lots of northern and mid-size muskies, a few monsters lurk, but will be best fished in june. weekends from 8-10 am is ski time by the course - if you are in the way, yes, we will ski around your boat like a bouy - but don't worry - there are only northern in that spot anyways, like i said, go north and south ends.

Posts: 284 Location: Eagan, MN | Sunny warm days, fish on top of the main lake bar with surface rotators. Don't mind the skiers and other pleasure boaters, I've caught very nice fish in the midst of all the chaos right up on top. On darker days, fish the deeper weed edges and don't be scared to fish open water deep holes for suspendos, particularly when the water is clearer early in the year. In fall, fish the steep edges with the wind pounding in using deep diving cranks. They're in there and they can be really nice fish. Brian Edited by BrianF. 4/15/2011 8:59 PM

I recently spent some time on Owasso. Early September around the public access in the AM and the area of the ski jump were productive for me-I am new to fishing for Muskie though.
