Random quote: After about a half-mile the fella stopped and stooped over, with his hands on his thigh's to catch his breath, and the Game Warden finally caught up to him."Let's see yer fishin' license, boy," the Warden gasped.

Just thought I would show a few of the baits I just completed for the up coming season. These baits are handcrafted from poplar. The lips are made from lexan & I use VMC cone cut 3/0 hooks on these baits. The eyescrews are .092 Stainless Steel & I use triple ring 200 lb test Wolverine Split rings. Each bait is turned, sealed, primed, base color painted, detail painted & two coats of Envirotex Lite for a clearcoat with glitter added. These baits come with rear hooks dressed & handtied by me or just plain hooks. Comments welcome.

Ken,

Really, really nice work!
I really dig the black/green with the silver/white belly!

MS
I like the size for early in the season.

Why wouldn't you just leave the topwaters lipless?

Uh oh, theres his next bait. WTD topwater.

Ever thought of any other paint designs? Scaling? EVERYTHING I see has that crappie/firetiger marking. What's the deal?

:o

The reason I didn't just leave the topwaters lipless is because when the person ordered these baits thats what he requested. Also I like the action of the lure created by the lip. Hope this answers your question. Thanks. Ken

Just wanted you to know that I don't only do the firetiger pattern. And yes these lures do work. Firetiger pattern & even bare wood clearcoated.

Well I gave it some thought muskyfvr but can't figure out how to turn pickles, cheese or the bun on a lathe. And as for Fred (sorry I mean guest) just thought I would show you some that don't have the fire tiger pattern.

Ken,

Really nice baits, I dig the patterns.
Thanks for posting the photos, it's always cool to see baits getting crushed!!!
