Posts: 829 Location: Maple Grove, MN | This year I ended up adding nothing but more spinner baits. I've added some more CJs (my favorite) and a variety of other spinner baits like Candy Spins, Grinders, and large Rad Dogs. I even picked up a super-sizer called a "Bling" spinner bait. The Candy Spins are for the kids and the larger ones are for probing the deep water when I can't find them in the shallows. I will still mostly throw CJs, but it doesn't hurt to be versatile.  | ||

Posts: 829 Location: Maple Grove, MN | CJs are very high quality spinner baits made by one of the best fishermen in the game. They come in a number of sizes, colors, and blade configurations. The models vary somewhat, but they are generally built with relatively short arms to go through cabbage and reeds and are also made with very good components. Ball bearing swivels (not barrels), super strong wire that can be bent back into shape many times, good hooks, and unique color patterns. They also come with either hair or skirts. They are by far my favorite and most productive lures. I carry at least 25 of them at all times and the only ones that aren't all pounded are the ones that haven't seen much water time. They stand up well and we generally throw them until the hair or skirts are about gone. I have several of them with over a dozen Muskie catches each. We use them as search lures, but also as finess lures when we want to probe specific areas like shallow weed beds, boulders, and inside and outside weed edges.
