Greetings,

I have some left over 3/4" plywood which I think would make some very nice flat sided glide baits. Looking for some insight into the design. I know I have to weight the bait to make it sink slowly but beyond that, I'm up to suggestions.
Thanks for your time...Kevin

First off, don't try to use plywood. I have been told that it will de-laminate and separate. That being said, I have never actually tried it. As for design, the sky is the limit. I had a friend that just started making gliders and I told him to get a Rollie and Helen Musky Shop catalog or search for existing style online to get an idea of what to try. Once you have a general idea, it is easier to modify to get your own style.

Good Luck

Almost all wood gliders are made from hardwood, maple, cherry, poplar, some are made from softwoods too, and have different actions and need more weight too. as far as style the sky is the limit , for your first try something simple . Round or flat it's your choice. play with it , thats the fun part of this addiction called "lure making".
