| Ok, So i'm going to make some #8 colorado bucktails, really simple stuff, i have Knipex, round pliers, the good cutters etc. The problem i am having is after i wrap my wire around the pliers to make the eye, the eye is off center(where you attach the snap for leader). Any tips on getting a good wrap that is centered? Does this make sense?
thanks in advance.

| when you start your loop for the circle , start about 1 1/2 inches from the end , bend wire at about a 45 degree angle , then slowly work wire around your round bend pliers, then make your final twists, depending on how big your loop is , 2 to 3 twists will be more than enough with .051 wire. hope this helps, easeier to show than describe. |

...it shows what fishingprovy is talking about with pictures. There is also a video of a guy making bucktails at a fishing show.
Good Luck,

| I went through this same thing recently myself. I just went with a route that was easier and even cheaper.......

Location: South East Wisconsin | Make your loop as you would. Then take your pliers and bend down where the loop is kind of off center (usually on the opposite side). This makes your loops really nice. |
