How long after thaw should a guy wait to start fishing tigers? i have a lake that has been thawed for close to a month now that has tigers in them. im just unsure with cool water temps wether or not to go out yet.

In my experience, they don't hit reliably (well, as reliable as muskies get) til the water hits 60F. That being said, I have gotten a couple fish shortly after ice-out. The catch rate drops off big time when you're sitting on the couch - no matter what the water temperature!

No offense, but it must be nice to be able to fish muskies year round. If the season was open year round here in Northern WI I would be trying to cast a mag dawg into a 8" ice hole right now.

As soon as there is enough open water on a lake to start fishing get out there!!! In Indiana and we start just as soon as the ramp is open. Normally when where is only 20-30 acres of the lake open. Its some of the best fishing I see all year
