| whoever has a humminbird transducer, the small hole in the middle, should'nt there be a screw in there. Transducer keeps poping out. (798or other) Marina swears you don't. Also, when i start boat, locator goes blank. Humminbird says it has to be hooked up to battery directly, not fuse panel. Anyone else have these problems? |

| I left the screw out of mine so if the transducer bumps anything it can flip up versus break. No reason you couldn't put another screw in if you wanted to.
I have mine directly wired to battery with the inline fuse provided. Never had unit shut off at start. Is battery getting low on charge? |

| Like guest said you want the transducer to pop up if you hit something. If your not worried about rocks and the transducer breaking and it keeps poping up for no reason then put the screw in it.
As far as it being hooked up to a fuse panel it says in the installation you can do it. If the fuse panel is going to your starting battery for your motor, when you fire it up it might pull too much voltage and cause the fishfinder to shut down. |
