Location: Iowa City, Iowa | North American fisherman tv has been testing knots for strength. The current champ is the Berkley braid knot. It has some similarity to J Bucher's power knot. My only objection to the study of knot strength is that they are using mono and fluorocarbon line to assess the strength. Musky fisherpersons would prefer that they test a couple of brands of braid. |

Maybe that will be in the cards for the show in the next few years? They have a web site where you can submit knots, maybe yo want t asl them to have a braid test? |

| we are fishing poor fighter fish with line strong as 100 lbs
so id say it dosn't matter,just use something really simple to tie, like palomar.i can garanty,you will never lose a fish with that knot. |

| I too have been using the Trilene knot for about 15 years on everything. It's NEVER failed. It's easy to tie as well. I may try the bucher power knot this year, but have you ever tried getting wire leaders thru the last loop? works for flexible mono but hard to tie with some materials. |

| My vote Joe Bucher's power knot he showed me how to tie it about 20 years ago and I am still using it. Never had the knot break using mono or braids.

| I have never tried anything but an improved clinch knot unless i'm drop shotting for bass. First knot I ever tied and it has never failed or slipped. |
