| Looking for some input on having a battery for electronics only. I am running three sonar/gps units and was looking to see how some of you other guys have your electronics set up. Do you need an extra battery or can you get by with a single battery for the motor/ electronics? If you did have a battery for electronics only what is the best way to charge it? On bank charger? |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I've run up to three electronics on my starter battery. I always put the biggest starting battery I can find in my boat, never have had a problem as long as I didn't leave anything on for multiple nights by accident, lol. Only time I've ever worried about charging my starting battery is in the fall, so a good portable battery charger is all I use and carry. I have an on board setup on my trolling motor batteries though. |

Location: indiana | i do run a gps and fishfinder on a separate battery up front. don't know if it is needed, but it is one less thing to worry about, especially on lotw. don't need a dead battery up there. i run a motorcycle battery with it's own charger. the troll motor batteries have their own charger as well. connected by ext. cords in the back of the boat it is one plug in and everything is charging. works pretty well. |
