Posts: 1039 Location: North St. Paul, MN | Wondering what the difference is in these two by ERC? I like to cast cranks and twitch, rip, reel/pause...but, also troll. So, do I get both or will one of them do the trick? Thanks, Steve

Posts: 727 | DD is the shallow version of the DDD, the DDD has alot more action.

Posts: 742 Location: Grand Rapids MN | As musker said the DD is a shallow version with a square lip while the DDD runs deeper with a larger round lip. I've only used the DDD but have a DD on the way to try out this year. If you like twitching/ripping cranks you can't go wrong with the DDD and it trolls really well. I like to hold the rod and rip it once in a while when trolling these. It makes the lure shoot out to the side and I'll feed a little line back after the rip so it just sits there for a split second in their face. Turns those followers into biters sometimes.

Posts: 717 Location: Grand Rapids, MI | IAJustin - 2/9/2010 4:15 PM DDD is a must have bait! I have about two dozen Really? That shallow? Mine seems to run around the 4-6' down range when twitching/ripping sideways. I can keep it higher with the rod up, of course. The nice thing about the DD is it suspends. I'll use Big Games if I want to make contact with the tops of shallow weeds, then let it float. But if I'm working a little bit deeper weed bed, the DD comes out to suspend just above the tops.

Posts: 2073 | Actually 5-6' is the depth I work DDD's a lot of times. That's why I like them so much they can effectively cover 5'-10' on a cast and stay there! Deadly....

Posts: 1184 Location: Iowa Great Lakes | DDD's are great for working the deep weeds/rocks. You can get them down 12-15'. I have 1 special one thats been dubed "old ugly" that seems to be tied on alot. I think First Six Feet is to credit for it's special paint job. I haven't had the best success on the DD's but I keep trying.
