Hi Guys, Our club is in the process of trying to collect some donations for our annual spring auction we have had the past 2 years(3 including 2010). It will be held on May 1st. We have been contacting several of our previous sponsors and it just shows that times aren't really getting much better because many just aren't able to help us out this year....we are afraid we are going to have trouble getting enough items to raise any amount of money.

Our club has donated about $2700 dollars over the past 2 years to TWRA(our DNR) to help support the musky fishery here in TN by buying "CPR" signs to be posted up across TN at any musky water accesses, as well as feeding fingerling muskies that have been obtained by the state while they were waiting to be stocked. We have hopes to keep doing stuff like this, but our club is strictly a non-profit club that can't operate without donations. So like I said, I am asking for anyone that may have some "connections" that may be able to help, if nothing more than a few baits, we would really appreciate any help we could get. Our club site link is in my signature if you would like to review our site and get an idea of what we are about. Thanks Again.

Dustin, if you MI, look into last month mag. There is the Hugh C Becker foundation that awards over $100,000 to projects through out the US. You need to write a grant to the guidelines that spelled out and submit it for approval, I think the deadline for this years award in sunday. But there is always next year. This a great to get matching funds for projects.

Many manufacturers will allow you to purchase merchandise at cost/wholesale. This is normally near 50% of retail which should allow you to make money off the merchandise. They get tons of requests for donations and most seem to appreciate that a group is willing to pay for the merchandise. Some even throw in an extra lure or two.

Even though were are in the middle of largemouth bass fishing country, I must say the Volunteer Musky Hunter Club is going in the right direction. With our showing of support, we were able to help establish a 50" limit on Melton Hill and increase the stocking rates. We work with TWRA to educate the public about muskies and how to successfully catch and release muskies. We are trying to recruit local fishermen and convert some bass fishermen over to musky fishing. Without a successful club, we feel that TWRA might abandon the musky program all together. We are blessed with a presitine river system that has some of the most fertile waters around which makes for a perfect environment for growing huge muskies. If any lure manufactures, guides, or anyone else interested in seeing southern musky fishing take off and want to be one of our sponsors, get in touch with Dustin. The waters down here have huge potential, and we need some help.

Thanks,

Thank you guys for the support, We have already got a couple very generous donations from the great members here on Muskie First, so we really do appreciate it. If anyone else feels that they could help us, please shoot me a PM. Thanks so much.
