i just got my xh pred from thornes last week and have been throwing pounders and mag dawgs with it all day, by far the best rod i have ever used for this application

i would highly sugest tackle industries rods. the xh mag 9ft or the xxh mega. either will work those and other baits as well.. james makes a darn good rod and well worth it...bill
