First off my plan for this rod is going to be big rubber and blades. But I have a quick question for you guys that have experience with the rods. Will the 8'6" be able to throw cowgirls/big blades well or would I want to jump up to the 9'3"?

Thanks in advance

i used both quite a bit last year.

the 8'6" XXH is my first choice for double-10s and it's pretty dang good for pounder-size rubber as well. i prefer the faster action that it has than the 9'3" XH because it doesn't load up and strain your arms as much during the retrieve and especially during figure-8s. it still loads up enough to cast well and give some forgiveness fighting a fish. it's pretty heavy, but this is a really great rod for the price.

the 9'3" XH is a nice jerkbait, spinnerbait, or inline topwater rod. imho, it'd be better and cast more smoothly if the action load point was slightly lower on the rod.
