I have an older eagle up on the bow right now and won't be able to get the garmin 240 up and running till I get the transducer so I was wondering If there was any trick to finding the thermocline with a older finder like the one I have right now. thanks in advance

Hi David, I've got a few minutes to kill while I wait for the lightning and thunder to ease. Finding the thermocline with the newer units is just a plus. While your waiting to install the new unit to do so, my advise is to just fish the top 1/3 layer of the water column, the worst thing you can do fishing suspended is to fish bellow the fish, sticking with the top 1/3 you shouldn't have that problem. Also remember that not all eco-systems stratisfies(sp) but even though they dosen't happen fish will still suspend. Hope this helps. [;)]
