| A 36" fish, plus some carelessness, did this to me. |
| |
| I've had it happen to me and its no fun! At least you caught a 36" musky. It happened to me when I was in Canada and I snagged a sucker and the hook got caught!

| The doc finally sends an orderly to the maintenance shed for the bolt cutters. "What the hell were you fishing for? Sharks?" |
| |
| My daughter just ran away and my wife thinks that she's gonna puke. OWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!![:0]

| Dang!! Your lucky it wasent fifty inches!!!!! |
| |
| I was very lucky. And there's a bright side....
yesterady I came home with a great big delux Fabrill Power Net, cost $70 at Gander. In the past, my wife would have had my nards for such a purchase. But no problem now since "It's an important part of the new safety program."[] [] [] [] [] [] [] []
And it is, because now I can leave the fish in the water while unhooking with my new long ass fireplace gloves and long ass pliers. Safer for the fish, safer for me. |

| Ranger: Wondering something...since you got a new net and gloves out of this unfortunate accident, wondering what I would have to do to get a new boat out of my wife? []
FYI: my wife got hooked in the STORE while buying me a father's day present. We ended up in the hospitla too!! |
| |
| I feel your pain!
Same thing happened to me about 8 years ago. OUCH!!!! |
| |
| The most telling thing about that photo was not the big hooks, but the big smile from catching that muskie. Keep smiling! m[] |

| Ranger- Glad you made it off the water safely. Never want to see this happen to anyone-> but good reinforcement-> be careful ot there.
Anon- That's why he's smiling! []- Only one hook! You've obviously never been hooked up before. There are moments of great joy, i.e., getting the fish unhooked, etc. Come on by Cass end of Sept we'll let Ranger set the hook on ya & see if you can appreciate the moments of sheer joy-> especially when that sucker comes out! | Anons - I don't think a piece of string would have done this one. It was deep and at the time I suspected that the tendon was involved and I wanted to minimize any further trauma. The musky, trashing at the side of the boat, had already pushed the hook all the way through. I think I was right to head to the hospital and have the doc deal with the problem. I was back out fishing two days later, though I was sore as can be.
Hey Musky Medic, what is your clinical opinion?
Paul - I'm fine and am going out this afternoon, tomorrow morning and again on Sunday. []

| Muskikid - Hmmmmmm......you could start by sharing some horror stories involving small boats. Then move to how a bigger boat will make you a better husband, lover and friend. (Sex on the water is safer in a bigger boat, though you'll have to decide if that's a good one to use or not.) And don't forget being a better dad - room to take your kid and his buds fishing. With a bigger boat, you can volunteer to take elderly, lonely men from the nursing home fishing and thereby brighten ther last days on this earth. Last, God told you to get a bigger boat. |
