I was looking at these rods and am stuck between these two. Is there a big difference between the two? If so than what? Also which one do you guys prefer?

Thanks for the help guys,
Cody

depends what you use it for. Are you throwing huge rubber baits, large blades etc...? if so get the XXH. That's why i chose the XXH

Thats what I was planning on useing the rod for but I have also been told that the XH is good for those types of baits as well.

I think it would vary as to how you like your rod action. I have the XXH, which I do like, but although I have never felt one, I think I would still be happy with just the XH. If your planning on throwing Mag Dawgs, I would say the XXH would be better suited, but just for DBL 10's, the Xh would probably be fine...but again, that depends on how you like your rod action. My XXH has almost no tip flex when figure 8'ing DBl 10's....which I like, but wouldn't mind abit more flex for casting them, but then it wouldn't be as well suited for Mag Dawgs. Just kinda depends on what you'd rather have, and what you plan on using most of. Thats kinda how I look at it anyway, but what do I know?

As noted, it depends on what you want it for. The XH is a good all around rod for lures up to 7-8 oz., I like it for many baits up to and including mag dawgs. For anything larger than mag dawgs and for double 10's/13's you'll want the XXH or the 9'3" XH. You can get away with big blades on the XH but you'll be under gunned with big plastic where the 8'6" XXH was designed for big rubber.

the 8'6 XH is more like a MH/H muskie rod IMO. Great for Topwater and "regular" bucktails, I rarely throw a bait over 3oz with it - it loads up way to much pulling 10's for me...the 9'3 XH is a great 10's rod IMO

I have these rods and have used them most of the year. I agree with what Will suggested.
