I relented and got rod holders for my boat, (even though I hate to troll), because sometimes trolling is just plain necessary:(
So, where do I mount my 2 holders - I am thinking very far back near the transom so I can run down rods and still turn the boat sharply to follow bottom contours, weed edges... I was going to put them back as far as I can reach them to get the rods out when a fish hits. I have a crestliner fishhawk 1650.
I plan on adding 2 more so I can run 2 lines per person on St. Clair so I thought I would have 2 near ransom and 2 farther forward?
Help!
Thanks
Landry

You have the right idea, 2 by the transom, 2 about 2.5 feet in fron of those, is how I do it.

I did the same and picked up the folbe holders also but the question I have is HOW to mount these as on one side I have access so I can use nuts and bolts however on the other side I don't have access inside so can I get away with using screws ?

Folbe's are plenty strong for musky trolling. Excellent rod holders.
