| Will the Okuma's handle pounders, or whould it be better to get a rod rated for the heavier baits? I am in the market for a rod that will handle the big rubber baits. Let me know if you could.
Thanks

| The 8'6 XXH, or the 9'3 XH will handle Pounders no problem. |

| the 8'6" XXH does very nicely for heavy baits. About the only rod i have found that will do it with ease. |

Location: Racine, Wi | As mentioned above, either the 8'6"xxh or 9'3 xh will handle them with ease. When I'm ripping the dawgs harder, I like the 8'6" xxh as it doesn't have quite as soft of a tip. It is soft enough to not rip hooks out of the fish though as well. The 9'3" has a softer tip section, so it works nice when I'm not ripping dawgs quite as hard, although it will still rip them hard if you want. Both rods throw the pounders with ease. The 9'3" is awesome for 8s as well. |

| I have the 9'3 XH and it throws pounders like a dream. I can cast a pounder just as far as any other bait with this rod. |
