Subject: National Championships ?

I was wondering when the Vilas County National Musky fishing championship was and if there was a site I could go to, to find info on it? Searched the web but couldn't find anything. I heard it's September 6,7, and 8 but not for sure.

The Musky Alliance tourney (called the National Championship) will be held August 16-18. Check with the Eagle River Chamber of Commerce for details.

The one I'm talking about is September 6-8 and I guess from what I saw is called the World Championship of Musky Fishing, but I can't find any info on it.

Thanks,

This is a very good event. Lots of fun. I fished it for years, even won it once, back when Pluto was a Puppy.[::)]

Steve, what lake did you fish and how many and what were the sizes of the fish you caught?

You can email me if you want at [email protected]

Thanks,

Upper Gresham. It took three to win, all upper 30" class.

Here is a picture from the awards ceremony. Art Barlow Sr, Art Barlow Jr, my tourney partner Al Smith, and Roger Sabota were there, all ALOT younger.[]

Must have been a celebrity tourney...the makers of the famous Barlow pocket knives + John Denver holding a trophy! Anyone else have any pictures from the 60s?[:sun:]

Steve, LOL on the pic! Just wondering if you actually fish as a 2 man team or how you do it?? The rules that I printed out didn't seem to explain it too well. The thing that I got from reading the rules was that your basically fishing individually with all the awards. Is that right? Or is there a 2-man, 3-man, etc? contest?

Thanks,
