I have 3 shimano Spirex 4000's that I am looking to beef up as Pike/ light Musky outfits. I saw that Shimano has the Voltaeus line with a heavy rod, 1/2 - 1-1/4 oz rating. I would rather have 2 piece rods to travel with, but would a rod like these work OK? Any other suggestions (besides casting equpment)?

Shimano has a spinning rod from their "Muskie" line of Compre rods that are specifically for muskie fishing. They only offer one model I think - CPS-M70MH 7'0 3/4-2oz M-Hvy. This would be a good option I would think I think you'll have to consider upgrading to a Baitcasting setup if you want to toss any lures more than 3 oz.
