I'm looking at maybe buying another net. Which is the best choice Stowmaster, Frabill or Beckman room in the boat isn't a reall beig issue. Which would you choose? Why?

I have had two Frabill nets and they are great, I have the Big Khahuna net right now and it's awesome for handling large fish. Plenty of room to work them. I have fished with guys who use the other brands and they make a quality net as well. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the brands. I would go with the biggest net you can, IMO.

Regarding Frabill:
Spend the money upfront and get the Frabill Powercatch--here's why---I have the Pro-Formance series and:
*needed to purchase replacement handle b/c was lightly stepped on and broke
*needed to purchase replacement hoop b/c it got kinked and broke.

The Powercatch series features handles and hoops that are not round and therefore not so easily broken.

Also--there are coated nets and heavy-duty coated nets---go heavy duty.

I am a fan of stowmaster...issues with space or not. They are nice to have when traveling. you can put them away.

i've got the largest Stowmaster and i love the folding ability, it's compact and is always out of the way in the boat yet extends quickly and easily when needed. this is a _great_ innovation.
the one thing i dislike is the mesh size, it's too small and this means that fish roll up in it and the hooks get tangled in it easily. every fish that's been in this net has managed to get the hooks wrapped up in the mesh and make it difficult to unhook the fish in the water.

the same, but opposite with my previous Frabill Powercatch: love the mesh size and coating as it was very fish-friendly and easy to unhook/handle fish, but the net takes up a ton of room in the boat and always seemed to be in the way.

a Frabill Powercatch bag with the large mesh on a Stowmaster hoop would be the perfect muskie net.

I like and currently have the Beckman Magnum XD Fin Saver. Great net big and light weight, treated bag ect. Frabill Big Khahuna is a great net but if you are fishing by yourself it's heavy to handle IMO.

Frabil Powercatch as well for me. As stated above, Big Kahuna too big for fishing alone.

I have a powercatch...no trouble with it. My favorite thing about it is the triangular handle. But Beckman nets are of great quality also. I use one for smaller species of fish.

I have the largest conservation series from frabill and I have had no problems with it. It is also a good net for when fishing alone
