Posts: 620 Location: Seymour, WI | I've got a Minn Kota Auto Pilot 65 lb thrust trolling motor. It's about 5 yrs old. I'm using the foot pedal to control the boat, but it will not turn left anymore. Wondering what's wrong with it? Thanks, Grass

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Your pedal is bad you can get a new one from Minnkota or many larger boat dealers carry replacements ($65-75). I'm impressed that yours lasted 5 years, mine barely make it a year (600 hours).

Posts: 280 | Had the same problem with mine. Lot of people told me it was not repairable and that I should buy a new one. The pedal is a very simple design and I was able to fix mine using a piece of electrical tape underneath the PCB. This raised the PCB contacts a little closer to the plastic mechanism that wears over time. A simple fix that may get you another year or two out of the pedal.

This is a quick fix that 8 out of 10 times works great. Tim
