| It's happened twice now - I get the intermittent warning beep on my '95 Merc efi 2 stroke, oil is low/out in the oil tank on the floor (though reservoir on engine under cowl still full). So I add a gallon of oil and the warning beep still goes off for awhile. Only thing that seems to make it stop is to remove the cap from the engine mounted reservoir a couple times - seems to relieve some sort of vaccuum or pressure lock or something. Is this normal? Any other way it can be avoided after filling, besides anticipating low oil in advance and always keeping it full? Thanks |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | If you run the oil in the main tank low enough, the top tank will have to be bled to remove air in the system and shut off the alarm.Make sure to add oil before the main tank gets that low, and your issue should be solved. Hope this helps! |

| I'll have to give that a try. Do you just regularly check and keep the main (floor) tank filled to avoid it going off in the first place? |
