Location: SE Wisconsin | Yeah yeah, we're all musky hunters, aren't we? Well, I'm shocked that no one on this popular board is clicking the WhitetailFIRST icon on the top of the screen to get jacked up for the bow season that's right around the corner. I know some of you are deer hunters. . . Join me on WhitetailFIRST for some amping up as we embark upon another shared season on the water and in the woods.

Posts: 20 Location: N.E. Ohio | I've been scouting and shooting and scouting some more... Finally something that I can compete with you Wisconsin boys... BOWHUNTING! Ya Baby! I got my 13pter on first day last year and my doe on Nov 7th. I hunted 7 days and got 2 deer- best year ever- but I did miss the rut hunting in Nov. This year I'm going for 3-4 deer- only one buck though.

Posts: 199 Location: Nebraska | Once I get back from Canada, fishing is over for me. I know fall fishing is good, but I grab the bow and off I go. Right now, all that I can think about is muskies.

Posts: 2686 Location: Hayward, WI | Sam, I LOVE to bowhunt too. This is a tough time of year for us - musky fishing is getting good (usually) and bowhunting is starting. I'll get REAL serious about bow season when mid october rolls around. Until then, I'll have a mix of fishing, getting my Springer puppy out in the woods for some grouse lessons, and bowhunting. Been SO warm lately I haven't thought too much about bowhunting. I'll have to swing by Whitetail1st. For some reason I just keep forgetting about it. curleytail

Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | Sam, I got to spend three days last week chasing the elk around in the Clam Lake area with a bunch of "elkaholics" like myself. Talk about getting your hunting juices going by having bull elk screaming at you from just a few feet away! It has become an annual tradition. What a way to warm up to the Hodag Muskie Challenge and hunting after that! Edited by Steve Van Lieshout 9/21/2009 8:43 PM

Posts: 4266 | I had to quit for physical reasons but I still have some great memories. Maybe I'll go walleye fishing and keep Koepe company later this fall. Beav Attachments ---------------- 149 Pope and Young.JPG (40KB - 150 downloads)

Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Beav, It's very cool up there. Lots of work on the house and land this summer. The old silver bullet is still there. I will add a buck picture I shot from that land. Get your daughter up there. You will love it now. Hunted this afternoon because I had a day off from guide jobs. Lots of buck sign this year around my stands here at home. Hope to get back up to the land soon. Mike Attachments ---------------- nov4theight.jpg (133KB - 145 downloads)

Posts: 1916 Location: Greenfield, WI | Sam, now you have another benefit to muskie fishing. Who would have thought that a figure 8 could lead to a job!? Great news for the "Awesome One", also known as Christie! They are lucky to have her!
