Posts: 618 Location: Bloomington, MN | I decided to zoom up to the dead sea (Mille Lacs) Saturday morning and go surfing with my Princecraft! I haven't purposely ventured into 3'+ waves in years...I guess I'm getting too old for that adventurous of a pursuit. My friend, Hans who has never caught a fish bigger than 15", joined me. He was the only one successful with the biggest pike I've had in my boat for many many years. I had about a 44" muskie take a lazy peek at my 12" Suick, but wouldn't even stick around for the figure 8. The lake has some tremendous fish, but they seem dis-interested this year on my few trips. I did see only 5 other boats tossing for the elusive muskellunge, and all the guys were in Ranger boats (?New Lake Rule?). If anyone is interested in a Mille Lacs trip, I must highly reccomend Nitti's Hunters Point Resort (Home of this years M.A.C. tournament). The accomodations were great, and their Pizza is the best I've had in Minnesota (Chicago Good!). I'd start in the weeds, rocks and sand.... lol May not narrow down much, but they are using all the structure right now... You "should" be able to find some fish, getting them to eat a bait is a different story.. | |||
