Hope this doesn''t get posted twice. First try did not show up....yet

Have never been to Pewaukee Lake, but it has been on my list as one of the closest Wisconsin lakes to us (central western Illinois), that is listed in Sportsman''s Connection Wisconsin Muskie Fishing Map Guide and is supposed to be very high on the muskie/acre scale....what a combination.

And now a Yard Sale. I can''t pass this up.

The closest camping facilities I can find on the internet are 12-15 miles from Pewaukee. Any of the muskiefirst members know of any closer campgrounds we could contact.?

Also, need to know motor limits, special permits to put boats on the lake, and where to purchase non-resident fishing licenses and any special permits, if needed for muskie on that lake.

A lot of this I can get from the Wisconsins DNR and by talking to some of the local tackle shops, but I would really like to have any info I could get from members familiar with that area that could help my first trip up there as smooth and possible. Also would like to purchase as many of the above needed things from local vendors as I can, but want to make sure they are avaialbe instead of

And...with a Who''s Who of muskie fishers names desending on that Lake at the same time....is there even any real reason to bring our fishing gear!!!

Any Info I can get will be greatly appreciated

thanks and good fishing....jwl

jwl,

There are no special permits for Pewaukee Lake. You can launch right at Smokies Muskie Shop. There is a $3.00 launch fee, and John gets $5.00 for parking in his lots. No motor limits on the lake, and no special muskie prmits. You can get a non-resident fishing license at Smokies.

I'll ask around at work, and see if I can help you out with a closer campground.

Regards,

Shep

YARD SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aug 25th.

For starters, and Yes Smokey's is the place to start that day. With water temps cooling, it should be a great weed bite by that weekend.
